Sweat The Small Stuff

The holiday season is here, and that means lots of gatherings, lots of food, lots of drinks, and lots of extra everything going into your body.  What can you do to combat the holiday binge?  Try an infrared sauna session to detoxify your body on a cellular level.

It’s well known that the body sweats out toxic substances, including heavy metals.  The most effective way to induce that safe sweat?  A sauna!  At THRiVE, we have industry leading Sunlighten infrared saunas.  It is clinical trials show that Sunlighten saunas are seven times more effective than a traditional sauna. It is commonly thought that sweat from traditional saunas is 95 to 97% water with salt making up a part of the rest. Far infrared saunas are believed to be more effective in moving toxins through the skin than traditional saunas because in an infrared sauna only 80 to 85% of the sweat is water with the non-water portion being cholesterol, fat-soluble toxins, toxic heavy metals, sulfuric acid, sodium, ammonia and uric acid.

Infrared saunas are a great way to recover from a bit of overindulgence, too!  Add a sauna to your day to burn up to 600 calories in a single session, meaning you don’t have to be the one who turns down that second slice of pie this year.  One too many glasses of wine at the company party last night?  Ease the inflammation causing your headache and flush out the lingering toxins with a sauna this morning.  So long as you hydrate appropriately, saunas are a great way to recover from holiday fun.

So, what should you expect from your sauna experience at THRiVE?

First, you’ll be provided with a secure locker to store your personal items, as well as a robe and flip flops.  Once you’re dressed down to your level of comfort under your robe, our staff will escort you to your own sauna booth.  Our saunas are able to accommodate 2-3 people at a time, so bring a friend along, or enjoy a little alone time.

Then, sit back and enjoy one of the 7 pre-programmed sessions.  Sessions range from 30 to 50 minutes long, depending on your goals.  Our staff recommends bringing a good book or silly magazine to read, so you have a chance to disconnect from the world for just a little bit.

When the program is over, you’ll be alerted by the lights, which will begin changing colors.  Your next step is to rinse off in one of our full showers, to get the toxins you’ve sweat out off your skin.  You wouldn’t want to re-absorb all that!

Finally, drift out of the spa on a cloud of endorphins, knowing you’re doing something spectacular for yourself without having to give up on all the fun of the holiday season.

A single sauna session is just $40.  THRiVE also offers a variety of package options to save you money.  A 6-pack of sauna sessions s $200, a 12-pack is $360, and these sessions can be used anytime you like.  Or indulge in the $300 Monthly Sauna Pass, which gives you access to the saunas as often as you like, up to 1 hour a day, for an entire month.  Want to bring a friend?  A second person sharing a sauna is just $10 more, and on Tuesdays, we waive that fee for Two for Tuesdays!  Saunas are available 7 days a week during any of THRiVE’s business hours.
