Lymphatic massage is designed to help the lymph system do its job better.  Our specially certified therapists are trained to understand the unique and delicate nature of this system, and use specialized techniques to aid in draining blockages and swelling.

The lymphatic system spreads throughout the body, but about 70% of the vessels are located just under the skin, allowing a therapist to gently stimulate them with rhythmic motions, encouraging the system to move the lymph back towards the heart.  A therapist certified in lymphatic drainage can identify problems and help remap drainage pathways, allowing the body to function at its best.

Lymphatic massage is very gentle, making it accessible to many people who find other forms of therapeutic massage, such as deep tissue or trigger point release, to be too intense.  Lymphatic massage is ideal as an option for swelling and edema, people recovering from surgery and cancer treatments, and those who are suffering from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and others.  Flushing the lymph system can also aid in detoxing the body, allowing the body to dispose of waste in a more efficient manner.

Lymphatic massage can be used on its own, or in conjunction with other massage techniques, allowing our therapists to tailor your massage to your specific needs, which is a cornerstone of THRiVE’s philosophy.

Many people find that lymphatic massage pairs well with the anti-inflammatory properties of the infrared saunas, as well.  A gentle 30-minute pain relief session in THRiVE’s Sunlighten sauna followed by a 1-hour lymphatic massage is just $120 for new clients.
