Where a 60 Min Massage Is Truly 60 Minutes

Many other big massage businesses sell a 60 minute massage, but you’ll often only get a 45-50 minute massage. At Thrive, our 60 minute massages are truly 60 minutes.

Not sure which massage type is right for you? Checkout our guide below with descriptions of each of our massage types.

CranioSacral Massage

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system – comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
By complementing the body’s natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

Lomi Lomi Hawaiian Massage 90 Minutes

Hawaiian technique that restores harmony and balance through long rhythmic and fluid motions, stretching and trigger point therapy. 90-minute session.

Lymphatic Massage

Strengthens immunities and facilitates metabolic waste removal by improving the circulation of lymphatic channels through gentle massage techniques.

Mastectomy Massage

Relieves post-operative pain and edema, reduces scar-tissue, increases range of motion, improves lymph flow and enhances quality of life by utilizing Swedish and Neuromuscular techniques.

Myofascial Massage

Addresses inflammation, tension and trauma of fascia by sustained pressure across connective tissue surrounding the muscles.

Neuromuscular Massage

Addresses chronic pain, range of motion and nerve compression by utilizing several myofascial release and trigger point techniques on localized muscle groups. 60-minute session.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage is fantastic for most standard pregnancies, but if yours is high-risk, you should talk to your doctor, doula or midwife before scheduling a massage. Massage is not recommended in the first trimester of pregnancy, as it can pose additional risks. Always tell your therapist if you feel any discomfort during a massage.

Reflexology

Reflexology works with reflex points in the hands, feet, and ears to affect specific bodily organs and functions. You can book a reflexology session with Abra or incorporate reflexology into your therapeutic massage.

Somatic Release

Relieves chronic tension and limited mobility by reprogramming the brain’s control of muscle fibers. Slow and gentle, yet powerful and effective. neuromuscular re-education techniques.

Sports Massage

Optimizes athletic performance and reduces risk of injury, by preparing muscles through facilitated stretching, circulatory and anti-inflammatory massage techniques. You may want to schedule a post massage regular or super detox session following a sports massage to assist in flushing toxins for the body quickly for additional benefits. A sauna session following a sports massage will reduce inflammation and clear the lactic acid and other metabolic waste from your system quickly. Catch a quick shower to remove toxins before they can be reabsorbed into your skin.

TMJ Massage (Jaw Neck and Shoulder focus)

A focused session with the goal of relieving TMJ pain and aid in healing.  This session will last 60 minutes and focus on the jaw, neck, shoulders, and upper back.

Trigger Point

Reduces muscle pain associated with “knots”, nodules within a taut band of muscle fibers, by using sustained pressure through multiple tissue layers. This technique can be very deep, it is important to communicate with your therapist when asking them to work on trigger points to ensure the pressure stays within your comfort zone. A gentle pain relief sauna is recommended prior to this deep work to pre-warm the muscles and allow the therapist to accomplish more during your table session.
